Introduction

The SmartTimer Evaluation Program demonstrates in prepaid mode, how the software manages and controls the client PC. It is also an overview of how SmartTimer looks and feels from the User's perspective. You will be able to access the security control features to customize a wide range settings applicable to your organization. Please note that the evaluation program does not contain the front desk Administration Module.

Evaluation PINs

To fully utilize the features of the SmartTimer Evaluation Program, please enter your email address in the space provided below. A set of five Evaluation PINS, each having a prepaid time credit of 15 minutes, will immediately be emailed to you. When trialling the Evaluation PINs, please remember that you must maintain an Internet connection.

Installing

From the destination directory, click on "SmartTimer". Follow the installation prompts until completed. The SmartTimer Evaluation Program will automatically start after installation. If you are running Windows Vista please download and read the Windows Vista Installation Notes.

Control Panel

At the login screen, enter the Override Access Code: SMART3191 (code is case sensitive). You will have access to the SmartTimer Control Panel. From the Control Panel you can click on the various tabs to configure all aspects of the program.

Applying Security Settings

After accessing the Control Panel you can invoke the program's default security measures by simply clicking on the "Install" button located under the Advanced Security tab. To fully customize a more comprehensive range security measures, click on the Advanced Security tab and select your options.

Some of the Advanced Security Settings only apply when using Internet Explorer and will not work when using other broswers as the default browser, such as Firefox.

After adjusting the security features, reboot your computer to apply the settings.

Screen Resolution

By default, SmartTimer is configured for a screen resolution of 1024 x 768. Reset your screen resolution by simply right-clicking on the Windows desktop and select "Properties" from the resultant menu. This will produce the "Display Properties" screen. Click on the "Settings" tab, and then adjust the "Screen Area" slider control to your original setting.

Stopping the Program

At the login screen, enter the Override Access Code: SMART3191 (code is case sensitive). The click on the “Stop the Program” tab.

Uninstalling SmartTimer

Ensure that you first remove any applied Advanced Security settings made during your evaluation prior to uninstalling the SmartTimer program.

Step 1: Access the SmartTimer Control Panel
     Enter in the override code "SMART3191" in the PIN number field and click Enter to start the
     Smarttimer control panel

Step 2: If you have installed any of the advanced security features, please uninstall them
     Click the "Uninstall" button several times to remove the security settings
     At this point you will need to reboot the computer and log back in again into the SmartTimer Control
     Panel to continue

Step 3: Stop the Client
     Press the "Stop the Client" button

Step 4: Access the Windows Control Panel and go to "Add/Remove Programs".

Step 5: Select the "SmartTimer Client" and click "Remove" and follow the onscreen instructions.
